Intersand, a world leader in its field and one of Canada's Best Managed Companies, is a family owned business that has specialized in the development and production of pet hygiene solutions for over 30 years, producing and exporting high-end cat litters in more than 60 countries.  Summary  The Production Maintenance Technician will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties, including routine corrective and preventive maintenance, equipment installation and troubleshooting, and routine mechanical testing of plant equipment. Essential Duties Perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment, as well as regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and facility. Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment. Conduct routine mechanical testing of plant equipment. Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics and work orders to perform required maintenance and service. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma/GED At least 3 years Maintenance Experience or Skilled Trades Experience Strong working knowledge of pumps, gearboxes, compressors, piping and valves Experience with SMAW, TIG and MIG welding preferred Ability to work at heights and confined spaces Ability to work while wearing a respirator or other breathing equipment Electrical and Controls knowledge a plus   Work Environment and Physical Demands This job operates in a plant environment within a manufacturing/warehouse/shipping facility with a controlled climate in the office area, temperatures vary in the plant area. This position requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs., carrying, pushing/pulling, balancing, kneeling, and crawling. Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, standard days/hours are Monday – Friday 3 pm-1 am, with the flexibility of some early hours, later hours, and weekend work when needed. Fridays are sometimes flexible.
