We strive to build a community where everyone feels supported and seen. About the Job The Senior Manager, Retail Planning owns the merchandise planning behind Comfrt's growing store fleet. You will plan what our stores carry, how much, and when, buying from our ecommerce inventory to set each store up to hit its sales and margin targets.Sitting at the bridge between our ecommerce inventory and our physical stores, you will build the sales, inventory, and receipt plans (open-to-buy), allocate and replenish product across locations, and give store teams the right assortment and stock depth to succeed. This is a hands on, analytical role for someone who loves turning data into a plan, and a plan into full shelves and strong sell through, in a fast moving, high growth environment. Responsibilities Retail Merchandise Planning & OTB Build and own store sales, inventory, and receipt (open-to-buy) plans by store, month, and category, aligned to each store's four wall targets. Forecast and reforecast in season, adjusting to sales trends, sell through, and seasonality. Set preseason and in season plans for core and new products, and manage inventory through peak periods such as Black Friday and holiday. Partner with Finance, Planning and Retail leadership to tie the merchandise plan to the store P&L and inventory investment. Allocation, Replenishment & Inventory Flow Allocate product from our ecommerce and DC inventory into stores by size profile, sell through, and store capacity. Own replenishment of core and never out styles so bestsellers never gap on the floor. Manage store-to-store and store-to-DC transfers to keep inventory balanced across the fleet. Plan markdowns and clearance to protect margin and clear aged inventory. Partner with the DC and operations teams on inventory accuracy, receiving, and flow (Fulfil). Assortment Planning Translate the ecommerce assortment into store right assortments by tier and location, making breadth and depth decisions given each store's size and customer. Localize assortments where the data supports it. Plan initial inventory buys and set quantities for new store openings. Partner with buying, ecommerce, and visual merchandising so the plan supports the floor set and the customer experience. Reporting, Analytics & Tools Build and own the retail planning tools and reporting: sell through, weeks of supply, turns, size selling, and sales per square foot. Deliver weekly and monthly business reporting to retail leadership, flagging risks and opportunities. Bring a point of view: where we are over or under inventoried, what is working, and what we should chase or cancel. Cross Functional Partnership & Scaling Serve as the planning bridge between ecommerce inventory, buying, DC and operations, finance, and store teams. Build repeatable, scalable planning processes and OTB discipline as the fleet grows. Support the store tiering model with tier appropriate assortment and inventory plans. Set store teams up to win by ensuring they have the right product, depth, and newness to drive sales. Requirements 6+ years of retail merchandise planning, allocation, and/or buying experience, ideally supporting a multi store fleet. Deep command of core planning concepts: open-to-buy, sell through, weeks of supply, GMROI, turns, and markdown management. Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills, comfortable building plans and tools from scratch. Experience with planning, inventory, or ERP systems (Fulfil, Flagship, or similar). Experience planning across both ecommerce and retail, or bridging the two, strongly preferred. Apparel, Home and or DTC background are a plus. Comfortable in a fast paced, high growth environment with a hands on, build as you go approach. Strong partnership and communication skills across merchandising, finance, operations, and store teams.
